Woof!

Mr Max has been in our home for a day now and he's a lot of fun!
Still nervous and playful but I'm sure once he's settled and stuff he'll be okay. Once he is settled a bit more I'm going to take him to the groomers and also get a bit of training sorted so he will respond to his name and stuff!

But at the moment for only a day he's doing great :]

Going to take him on a nice walk later with the new long lead I've brought, and take a ball so he can play too!

Upcoming travels..

Today I've been sorting out a trip to Amsterdam in July, hopefully it will happen....

Going with my friend Roy who I've known since school..see what shit he posts here - www.roy1992.blogspot.co.uk

Hopefully going with my mate Ralph too when he gets back from cycling to Russia and back. Go follow his blog it's pretty amazing - www.ralphjbutler.blogspot.co.uk

We haven't exactly spoken to him about this trip as phoning to Russia is pricey...

But anyway me and Roy have been working out prices of ferry, trains and accommodation today so it's all systems go!

Going for about 5 days so should be really cool!
Have wanted to go back to Amsterdam since my first time there was wasted with someone I didn't get on with!

We worked out camping is going to be so much cheaper - and fun! May as well do these things while I'm young and can stand it.

Currently looking at stuff we can do while we're there, places to go and see.
More soon - bye!

Busy busy!

Work today was quite busy..not as busy as yesterday! I think it's caught up with me as I have been so tired all day, everyone else at work had too!

We had some lovely visitors today though, two of them left us really uplifting comments in our feedback box which is great to know we're doing good!

I took a few snaps of work today with my phone on the way back from taking a cuppa to the ticket hut:

I must say that I love working in such a gorgeous environment! The house itself is amazing, and the gardens - beautiful!

I basically run the tea room and everything and everyone who volunteers in there with me. From doing the ordering and invoices, to getting new products and suppliers! It can look like an easy job from an outsiders perspective, but it's quite demanding - but that's why I love it!
It could be easier if you run a place similar yourself with cleaning etc, but I have national trust guidelines to always work with and of course events happening all the time to prepare for!

Overall although work makes me quite tired, I really love it. Love the people I work with, the place and even the customers!

Moving on from work, the guinea pigs are getting very squeaky lately - I think they're whining too much...

Hehe, bye!

Don't you hate it when..

I was cross at work today, I was watching two beautiful dresses on eBay that hadn't been bid on this morning. They were due to end today, but because work was busy I missed my chance to bid on them.

One of them went for £3.20 and I would've gone up to at least £5 :[ It was so pretty as well, 1950's style and a lovely light coral colour.

- Rant over -

After work today my Mum came to see me at my house. She brought her boyfriend with her as well who I'd never met before, so it was odd but good to finally meet him.
He seems nice, makes her happy and seems genuine so I'm okay with that.

In other news I drank lots last night so was slightly hungover at work today, but had a lovely night with amazing people!

Probably more interesting stuff to mention tomorrow...with pictures!

New addition to the family!

Over the past week I've been heavily considering getting a dog, since I have my own place (well shared but you know what I mean).
I'd seen a few for sale on local Facebook pages and actually met one which was beautiful, although she was smelly, overweight and very very malty!

On Thursday me and my housemate decided to go to dogs trust in Shrewsbury to see what poochies they have there.
At first we found a nice little dog called Patrick who was lovely - but found out that he was an aggressive dog and a lot to handle. I didn't think he would be right for me being my own first dog.

So we looked around again and found a dog called Mr Max, a black collie with a white ruff and white front paws. I love collies so asked for more info and to walk him. The info we were given was all positive and nice, so we gave him a walk!

He was absolutely great on the lead and liked to jog with me too!

So all in all, I've reserved him because he's just such a lovely doggy!!!
Got them coming to do a house check Thursday, then by Tuesday he should be with us :]

So excited!

UPDATE!

Hello again!

Wow, so I've been really quiet on here, a year and a month!
Updated things from the last time I posted:

- I've graduated from my degree in photography

- I'm now employed by the National Trust in a lovely property called Sunnycroft

- I'm living with my best friend and her boyfriend

- And last but not least I have a pet guinea pig called Sugar!

Okay so not much excitement, but enough for me!

I've also started the process of starting my own photography business, doing weddings, portraits and lots more!
My website seems to be up and running better than before too!
www.lizziebennett.co.uk

I'm going to try and update this with my daily antics and exciting stuff..

Today...

So today I went back to my old secondary school to do a talk on being a photographer and setting up my own business etc.
Whilst I was there I mentioned to an old teacher (who was there when I was a student) that I wanted to do my PGCE at some point..
She then mentioned that she'd talk to the deputy head - who does the photography GCSE - and see whether I could do a little bit of work experience at the school helping with the classes etc.
She emailed me back today already saying that she definitely wants my help in September when the new year 10's will start their GSCE!

So yes I am very excited for fun things to come. Also I have a few weddings booked this year and next, hurrah!

Hope you've enjoyed reading - more soon...
